If you are after a true taste of Cornwall, look no further than our delicious, delectable and ever popular savory pasties.
We use a closely guarded, family recipe, which goes back generations to create our traditional, home made, shortcrust pasties in our farmhouse kitchen. In addition to our mouthwatering Cornish Pasty (beef), we can also cook scrumptious Cheese and Onion and Vegetable.
Please pre-order either in the shop or on 01637 861667, to ensure we can freshly prepare and bake your pasty for collection.
Nothing beats a Cornish Pasty to warm you up on a grey day, to pack in a picnic in the sunshine, to bring to the beach or enjoy for an evening meal. A true taste of Cornwall from a true Cornish kitchen.
Tried and tested, traditional family recipes are used to create our delicious range of Jams, Jellies, Chutneys and Relishes in our Farmhouse Kitchen.
We include our own organic, seasonal fruit and vegetables, including fruits from our hedgerows and wild areas, making sure we leave enough to satisfy the local wildlife!
Our wild fruits include Sloes, Damsons, Rose hips, Blackberries and Elderberries.
Fruits from our orchard consist of heritage varieties of apple including ‘Cookers’ Sops of Wine, Bramley and ‘Eaters’ Beauty of Bath, Victoria Plums and Damsons.
Perfect jams to accompany our own breads, scones or splits, our chutneys, jellies and relishes are also an amazing compliment to our own Organic Hams, Sausages, Burgers, Steaks, cold meats or some local Cornish cheese. Superb on a sandwich.
All our mouthwatering and tasty preserves are very popular, so either pop by the shop to see what we have in season or contact us to make a special order of your favourite!
Bees are of utmost importance to us at Gluvian. They are part of the indigenous ecosystem and are vital to the pollination of our plants and trees. Being an Organic farm, we don’t use pesticides, so our wildflowers, wild spaces, orchard and hedgerows are abundant with native species which the busy bees thrive in and it’s a healthy habitat for them!
Despite the major insecticide companies insisting that the chemicals they produce are ‘safe’, independent scrutiny from major field trials, have produced reports which are conclusive that the use of pesticides damage the survival of bee colonies, accounting in part for their decline. See here for a recent article from the Guardian.
So what can you do to help? The Soil Association has launched it’s summer campaign #BeeOrganic which we have been following closely and updating social media with images of our little friends on the farm. It doesn’t take a lot to plant bee friendly species in a window box or garden and feel good about being part of their recovery!
This August looks set to start fair, with a couple of days providing glorious Cornish sunshine. Why not make the most of them by cooking alfresco and enjoying one of our mouthwatering, tender, Organic beef steaks.
We have rump, rib eye, sirloin and fillet, all sizes to suit all appetites and budgets. Bred and reared on the farm, slow fed on our Organic Cornish pasture and antibiotic free.
Planning a picnic with friends this summer? We have plenty of good locations around here – beaches, moors, parks or simply a comfy spot of grass in the Cornish sunshine.
Why not order some of our scrumptious, traditional farmhouse kitchen scones, jams, splits, yeast buns, saffron buns, chutneys, pasty pie or ham and egg pies.
Perfect for a lazy lunch, all you have to do is serve, sit back and enjoy! Which raises the question… jam or cream first?
